Announcing: June 11 is Frig Art Day!

I love looking at people's refrigerator photos. We don't have alot right now - we are renting a house with one of those stainless steel finishings on the doors, so we've kept the art down. But it's slowly creeping in. How could we resist the photo of Connor and his new baby brother Jack? And the "You smell like Doody" magnet that N. and OD can't resist. Also, today we had our GLBT Pride Celebration in town and we had our photo taken for the Postcard Project.
I wrote my postcard to President Bush, who is once again trying to deny GLBT people civil marriage rights. I'd like to have my civil rights restored -- my short-lived marriage license with N. was invalidated by the state of California. I'd like to have the same rights under civil marriage law while married to N., as I had when married to OD's father many, many years ago. Weird: I recently found out that, when OD's dad leaves this earth (no wishes here, not even in jest) I will be entitled to receive his social security payments, because neither he nor I have "remarried." How does this makes sense? But that's a right I still have because he and I were married for 10 years, 16 years ago. I have more rights as his ex-wife than I do as N.'s current partner.

The civil laws regarding marriage in this country are KA-RAZY.

But I digress (LOL)...what's on your refrigerator? I hereby dub Sunday, June 11, as REFRIGERATOR ART day. Show your colors, show your art, say it loud and proud! Tell us about it - what makes it special to you.
