Join the Impact!

One day shy of a month ago, N. and I were at married at this courthouse. Today I was there with my daughter to raise a little hell.

This rally and march were part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to the hate and bigotry being perpetrated upon gay, lesbian, bi, trans folks. This was just the tip of the crowd. The support from people driving by was exciting! I got to yell my heart out! "Whadda we want? Wedding cake! When do we want it? NOW!"

Lots of young folks, young kids, and many many straight married couples there to renounce Prop. 8. I had a 2' x 3' sign that said "Married Oct. 2008." Lots of people said "Congratulations!" Jeez, if I'd thought ahead, I could have registered at Crate and Barrel, printed up lil' 2x2 cards and handed them out. You never know. I'll keep that in mind for the next rally.

Oh yes. There will be more.

It must feel especially heinous to be given a right just a short time ago and have it stripped away like that.

A little surreal standing in front of that courthouse.

Well there is a whole community standing with you in shock but we will change things.
