Reverence

"Tu Fu is not religious at all. But for me his response to the human situation is the only kind of religion likely to outlast this century: 'Reverence for life.'"
~ Kenneth Rexroth
Get it, Bushophiles? Fire and damnation hate-preaching clerics, clergy? I'm going nuts with the talk of bombing nuclear sites in Iraq. Is Bush freaking crazy? Is the congress ready for the articles of impeachment if Bush orders air strikes?
While the fear and the hate swirl around and threaten to undo me, I give thanks to
- the shopkeeper I've known many years who gave me a chaste kiss on the forehead and a hug to wish me a Merry Christmas
- the campus groundskeeper who gave me a sweetly drawn portrait of hope for a holiday card
- my step daughter who gave me an extra hug on the way out the door this morning
- Robin, for being there and truly understanding
- Roger, for telling me he loves me
- Nickie-the-bestest-greatest-spouse-of-all-time (sorry Roger)
- the people who have remembered me with cards and presents this season, and those who haven't
- my older daughter who still likes to hang out with me
- Jon Stewart who makes me laugh my guts out while challenging my brain
- George Winston for his many albums, but particularly, "December"
And thank you, for stopping by, and sharing a bit of yourself.
